About End of the Album Wars

Published by libertarianvegan

Albums used to be listened to from the beginning to the end.  Songs were specifically ordered to create the proper journey for the listener.

Songs have since become throw away digital bits to be downloaded and lost in the shuffle with the thousands of others, perhaps to come up by accident one day.  While songs all have their story to tell, listening only to a single can often become the equivalent of reading a chapter in the middle of a book and then tossing it aside.  You know what happened in those 3 minutes or 30 pages, but you haven’t fully experienced what the artist has to say.

To that end, this site is to celebrate entire records and the impact they have on the lives of ordinary people, such as myself.  While I do associate certain songs with specific events, more often than not I associate whole records.  Listening to them takes me to certain places, times and emotions more than individual songs do.  I am not a music critic and have no desire to be.  Please feel free to share your stories about the albums as well.  Music should be a community, not a commodity.

And I stole the title for the site from the Appleseed Cast’s first record, not from JRR Tolkien.  I can’t say if they stole it from him.
